Based in Nant Y Benglog just outside Capel Curig within the Snowdonia National Park, the Williams campsite at Gwern Gof Isaf farm is not merely a campsite but a place of legend.
As of today, the farm at Gwern Gof Isaf has been proudly family-operated for 8 generations. The campsite has continually thrived since it's inception in 1906 by Hen Nain ('Great
Grandmother' in Welsh) Jane Williams. Her hard work, ingenuity, and resourcefulness earned her renown in our community and she's a huge inspiration for all of us here at Gwern Gof Isaf. Over the years many a camper, traveler, and
intrepid explorer have visited our beloved site. One famous guest was Brigadier Sir Henry Cecil John Hunt in 1952. He used Gwern
Gof Isaf as his base camp whilst training for the successful British Expedition he led to Mount Everest the very next year. We love hearing from guests that Gwern Gof Isaf holds a special place in their hearts, and we are committed to providing a safe, affordable, beautiful place...a place to make cherished memories, encounter our ravishing, native Welsh landscape, and to contemplate and cultivate a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other. Today we are honored to share our vibrant past with each and every visitor, and forge ahead with you into a bright and hopeful future.
